SAILTECH: The Technology Behind SAILWRLD
SAILTECH is the end-to-end technology platform that powers everything we do — from the GPS trackers on the boats to the live maps spectators watch on shore. It combines rugged hardware, real-time telemetry, and intelligent software into one connected system built for the demands of competitive sailing.

What is SAILTECH?
At its core, SAILTECH is the foundation that links every part of a race together. Each boat carries a compact, weatherproof GPS tracker that streams its position, speed, and heading multiple times per second. That data flows through our network into the cloud, where it's processed, validated, and turned into the live experience you see — accurate to the meter, in real time.
GPS Trackers
Rugged, waterproof units that capture precise position and motion on every boat.
Live Telemetry
High-frequency data streamed continuously from the water to the cloud.
Smart Software
Processing that turns raw signals into clean, race-ready insights.
RTS — The Race Tracking System
The heart of SAILTECH is the RTS (Race Tracking System)— the engine that brings a race to life. RTS ingests the live feed from every tracker, places each boat on a virtual race course, and reconstructs the entire event as it happens: starts, mark roundings, laylines, gains and losses, and finishes.
Live Race Map
Watch the whole fleet move in real time on an interactive course, on any device.
Performance Analytics
Speed, VMG, distance, and angles per leg — for debriefs that actually improve results.
Fair & Verifiable
An objective, timestamped record of the race that race committees can rely on.
Replay & Broadcast
Relive any moment and produce engaging broadcasts long after the gun.
How it all comes together
SAILTECH and RTS work as one. The trackers capture the action, SAILTECH moves and processes the data securely, and RTS transforms it into live maps, analytics, and replays. The result is a single system that serves sailors, coaches, race officials, and fans — making racing more transparent, more competitive, and far more exciting to follow.
